HISTORY

Arden Heights is on the South Shore of Staten Island, NY. In 1886 Erastus Wiman a real estate developer named the community. Known for being the site of St. Michael’s Children’s Home which was on Arthur Kill Rd. It was a Catholic orphanage, which closed in 1982. Some of the land was sold to Real Estate Developers and a section of the community is now known as Aspen Knolls. The original plan was to build the development to house naval families. Due to base realignment and closure that never transpired. The builders decided to move forward with the construction and sell it to the general public. Besides Aspen Knolls there are a number of other developments nearby in Arden Heights Staten Island New York. Village Green, Rolling Hill Green, Manchester Drive /Green valley Rd and Oak Lane & others.

Local buses: S74/84 Arthur Kill Rd, S56 Arden Ave and Arthur Kill Rd, S55. Express buses: Annadale Rd X17 and X19 along Arden Ave and Arthur Kill Rd, and the X23 along Woodrow Rd and Arthur Kill Rd. Easy to access to NYS 440 by the way of Arthur kill Rd & Huguenot Ave entrance. The train station is on Annandale Rd in the heart of Annandale town.
